Conservation of memory and stories through art is a topic that the final video work is based upon. Our generational heritage and stories are often forgotten because they are told by memory. But when generations are lost, and their memory is gone, what can we preserve?

My video work Rosa focuses on my great-grandmother Rosa’s story and conserving her stories. Rosa was diagnosed with senile dementia about five years ago, and we have seen her memory rapidly fading. There are still things she remembers, therefore keeping these stories alive is an essential part of understanding who my family is.

The short film was screened as part of GRRL Haus’s Best of 2024 Festival, where it was acclaimed as the best of experimental films.
